You Were Born to Move

I have spent so much time training, pleading, coaching, and just plain screaming about the importance of exercise in our lives that I have been ready to give up more times than I can count!

I have even begun to think that maybe there was some way around the necessity of exercise because it just seems like an impossible sell for so many I have dealt with.

Here’s the deal though:

If you want to be the best version of yourself, in turn becoming the best educator you can imagine, then you MUST make exercise a part of your life.

There are no ways around this reality, your body and brain was designed for you to move!

For some reason there seems to be such a prevailing negative pattern in people's thoughts about exercise.

Our minds trick us into thinking that exercise hurts, it sucks, you weren’t born to exercise like some people, and on and on.

“The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak,” we tell ourselves.

The trouble is that the previous statement is a flat out lie, spawned from the infernal realm of our minds!

Your body is only willing to do whatever your mind tells it to, period!

Really this is just our cop out, the lie we tell ourselves because we don’t want to face the reality of the truth we have created:

Our spirit is weak, never our body!

I have had individuals tell me they just don’t care enough to exercise and ultimately that is one of the choices here.

However, when we start to accept ideas like this in our minds we have settled on mediocrity and in effect told ourselves, our families, our students, that none of them matter enough to show up as the best version of ourselves.

This is a tough pill to swallow but some of us take it everyday!

If we want all of the amazing benefits that come with exercise we have to start paying the mental and emotional price necessary to implement this practice.

Enough with the excuses!
